You can start by using any of the options available for anti-sensitivity toothpastes. Take a small amount on tooth brush, then spit don't rinse away the residue. It sounds gross but it is important for that residue to actually block the open pores that cause sensitivity. READ MORE

Can you suggest some way to reduce sensitivity?
You can use one of the various anti-sensitivity tooth pastes like Sensodyne/Colgate or Crest. Try brushing with this tooth-paste and spit but do not rinse your mouth after that. There is not a considerable research which would support oil pulling. So, as a dentist, I will not recommend it unless there is a considerable evidence for support in future. READ MORE
For small kids how frequent should dentist visits be?
You should take your kids for their first dental exam as soon as 6 months of age. After that, they should be seen every 4 months to access proper jaw growth and teeth until they are 3 years old. After kids reach 3 years of age, parents should bring them for regular 6 month visits. READ MORE

As long as you are brushing right way, your daily brushing routine is good. You need to floss more often though. Flossing is recommended once a day. So, you need to improve that. Start with 2 days a week then 3 and gradually make a habit of doing it once daily. READ MORE

It is not necessarily a root canal. There could be multiple reasons behind tooth sensitivity including but not limited to: Worn tooth enamel, Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages, Tooth decay, worn leaky fillings and broken teeth, Gum recession, Grinding your teeth at night or it could be Post dental treatment sensitivity especially with procedures such as crowns, fillings and tooth bleaching.
