In regards to his educational background, Dr. Calvert attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee for his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology. He then moved to Manhattan and attended Weill Cornell Medical College on the upper East Side of New York City. It was there that he realized that plastic surgery was his calling and thus, he achieved admission into the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Health Sciences at their Combined Plastic Surgery /General Surgery Residency Program. He spent two years in the lab and wrote two patents with his co-researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in the Robotics Institute.
With a precise surgical hand and keen eye for detail, the doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Due to his utilization of advanced methods and his expertise in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Calvert is an international speaker on plastic surgery, attending conferences and seminars all over the world. He has been seen on national television on shows such as The Tyra Banks Show and The Doctors TV show.
