Academically, Dr. Kalla received his medical degree from Dr. S.N. Medical College in India. Subsequently, he was accepted as a postdoctoral cardiology research fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, where he worked on basic and molecular cardiology research. He then went on to complete his internal medicine training at Brown University affiliated hospitals in Rhode Island, followed by a fellowship in cardiology at SUNY Upstate University, Syracuse and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Calgary.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), he is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Professionally, Dr. Kalla served as faculty member at both SUNY Upstate University and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.
