Asad A. Bakir, MD, FACP, FASN is a noted nephrologist currently in private practice in Chicago, Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois. An expert on hypertension, kidney disease and dialysis, Dr. Bakir has also contributed to several articles in medical journals and books regarding kidney disease, hypertension, chronic and end-stage kidney failure. He was made Fellow of the American College of physicians and the American Society of Nephrology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In his academic career he trained a large number of residents and fellows from Cook County Hospital (now Stroger), University of Illinois and Rush University Hospitals. He does not do primary care practice but only sees referral patients with kidney diseases.
