  • Rabies fear?

Since the skin was not penetrated, rabies could not be transmitted. READ MORE

  • Dehydration concerns?

"Food poisoning" classically is caused by ingestion of food that is contaminated by staph aureus bacteria, lasting seldom beyond 24 hours. Viral gastroenteritis lasts 1-3 days mostly, and bacterial gastroenteritis can last days and weeks. Bacterial gastroenteritis is often associated with fever, bloody stools, and ingestion of food contaminated by E. coli, yersinia, or campylobacter salmonela. READ MORE

  • Should I go to the ER after my fall?

With the fall you described and the severity of force, it would be hard to rule out pelvic fracture (acetabulum, ischium, or ramus) without at least some X-rays (and maybe CT). READ MORE

  • Fecal impaction?

You should seek medical attention as it looks like you may have another issue. Of course you should have had a colonoscopy by age 45. Depending on how severe the pain is and whether you have nausea, vomiting, fever and so on, you may start with a colonoscopy or an abdominal CT READ MORE

  • Is this cancer?

  • Should I be worried about the insect bite?

Since you are still concerned about it, you should see your physician because numerous possibilities exist. I also need more information, such as prevalence of Lyme disease in your area (deer tics, whitetail deer ) READ MORE

  • I have unexplainable shooting pains?

I notice that on the medication list you put "alot." I would like to know for what condition they were prescribed. But, you are not crazy, I assure you of that. I enjoy answering your question, that is what I was born to do. READ MORE

  • I don’t know if I should go back to the ER?

It would nice to know why you have stage 3 kidney disease this early at age 27. If you do not have a nephrologist, I would suggest that you get to know one to preserve your kidney function. As a certified internist and emergency physician, I most of the time offer to see my patients myself (or my ER colleagues). READ MORE

  • Tongue is swollen?

I hope you take care of yourself. As you know, cocaine is bad. Cocaine is especially bad for someone with seizure disorder. Cocaine is a vasoconstrictor, and as such can necrosis (death of tissue). READ MORE

  • Is it bad? Should I go to the hospital?

Closed head injuries are of 2 major kinds, deceleration and non-deceleration. Deceleration head injury is typified by a motorcyclist without helmet hitting his head at 40 mph. Non-deceleration injury can be exemplified by a 40 mph soccer ball hitting a stationary. Punching the head is more like a soccer ball hitting your head. Some studies show that Over 90% of the people have headaches. My guideline is that if my headache goes away after 1mg /kg of ibuprofen and 15 mg/kg of acetaminophen. If headache linger on, you can either repeat the same after 4-6 hrs or be evaluate with a CT scan. I hope you stop the habit of hitting your head. Take care. READ MORE

  • Bee sting on head causing facial swelling at bridge of nose into eyes?

If her eyes are impairing, she should see an emergency physician READ MORE

  • Pills I was given at the clinic?

I am sorry I tried to identify the pills but could not identify them. That said, with or without medications, a health 24 year old woman should expect to recuperate just fine READ MORE

  • Why can't I have a doctor look at my head without going to the ER?

Immediately after head injury, the things that concern me in the elderly are whether someone is on blood thinning medications (Coumadin, Plavix, and so on). Elderly patients are more likely than younger patients to suffer from subdural hemorrhage after head injury. Seeking immediate medical is therefore important in the first 24 hours. If you are doing pretty well after 7 days, importance of going to the ER or urgent care is much less. READ MORE

  • Facial Numbness and Twitching and Tinnitus A day later after a covid shot?

I am concerned about this problem you have. You should let your doctor know about this. Whether or not it is vaccination related can be difficult to sort out. If it is vaccination related, your regular doctor should enter it in your medical records. Take care. READ MORE

  • I have a dropping body temperature with COVID?
