What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

Unable to get out of bed in a morning, pains in my body, shoulders, chest, arms, legs, and toes. I would crawl to the toilet some mornings, and it could be mid afternoon before starting to feel like I could move. Extreme tiredness.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

The hardest point was getting my doctor to believe and refer me to the hospital for tests. They kept suggesting I was depressed. Eventually, referred to a specialist and did the 14 point test and immediately advised that it was fibro.

Upon learning about your diagnosis- what happened next?

JHe was lovely consultant, as he said it is not going to kill you. I can help with the pain relief but you have to change your lifestyle and diet. He saw me again after 4 weeks and then discharged me. My painkillers are brilliant and life has vastly improved, still get bad wipe-out days but not as often.

After a lot of self research, life is good again and able to work again. However, I strongly believe mine was bought about due to stress about losing sight and the medical profession saying nothing can be done - I was 50 and going blind. However, it did get sorted.
