Do you feel like fibromyalgia has changed you as a person?

Yes. I’m less bubbly, far less laid back. A bit more pedantic, argumentative, down. I used to be intelligent with a good memory, was very logical, and great at map reading. All of those things are now hit and miss.

Has fibro limited your physical activities? How?

Definitely. I’ve given up so much: driving at night so I can’t get to evening classes, I can no longer do weights, aerobics, step, badminton, tennis, dancing, tap dancing. I can’t swim where it’s cooler out of the water than in - can’t cope in even slightly rough seas, and I can no longer do proper hikes. I can just manage short walks, now only 5km/h when it used to be 5mph. And I struggle to do any yoga - I did it from ‘74 to 2006 but now can’t touch my toes.
