After dental implant surgery, the implants need time to integrate into the bone. This time period will range from 3-6 months depending on the location, amount of available bone, and bone density. Once the implants are integrated, a healing abutment will need to be placed if it was not placed at the time of the implant surgery. The healing abutment will need to be connected to each implant for 1 month to help contour the tissue for the final restoration.
