What is the best position to sleep after spine surgery?
On your side or back are safe. On your back, a pillow under the knees relieves pressure on the back. On your side, a pillow between your legs can help nerve pain.

Physical therapy and especially McKenzie type exercises can help this process and avoid surgery. An extruded disc is analogous to the jelly squirting out of a jelly doughnut. This type may resorb and shrink over time eliminating the need for surgery.
