Dr. Brandis is certified with the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology Authorization, through PSYPACT, an interstate compact that almost all 50 states have enacted into their laws. Many assessments and psychological tests can be conducted via email, video conference or online.
"As a licensed Psychologist with 35 years’ experience working with children, teens and adults, my goal is to find the quickest and most effective way to meet your goals and solve the problem(s) that brought you in. To do that, I will first gather enough information to develop a thorough understanding of you and your situation. We might have you or others fill out questionnaires, or may use psychological testing to clarify the picture. Once we have the relevant information, then we will discuss the possibilities and develop a set of strategies to address the issues.
"My experience and training includes: psychological testing for attention, learning and emotional problems; individual psychotherapy for depression, anxiety and other issues; behavior problems in children and teens; relationship issues and family counseling; addiction evaluation and treatment; chronic pain, disability and pre-surgical assessment.
"I believe that I am skillful at finding the “missing piece” that others may have missed. I understand something about medications that you might be taking or have taken, and I am familiar with alternative treatments as well. I believe that you should be in charge of decisions about your treatment, and I strive to work with you on your terms. I want you to be in charge of the process, while I act as a consultant and guide."
