Yes. Antidepressants can be helpful to treat anxiety. However, it's always recommended to use medication with therapy at the same time.
Yes, I can.

Do you feel your problem is with how frequently you become angry or with anxiety. You might want to consult a psychotherapist to help you sort this out and explore what triggers your becoming angry.
In the double blind placebo controlled clinical trials I conducted several antidepressants helped alleviate symptoms of anxiety. These include but are not limited to Paxil (paroxetine) and Effexor (venlafaxine).

As do all psychotropics there are possible side effects and Effexor can be difficult to stop without the help of an experienced doctor. Neither are to be stopped suddenly although not dangerous the symptoms of withdraw can be challenging.

For anger many find Zolaft and Prozac most helpful.
There are a few medications that can help with both depression and anxiety however I have found many of my clients eliminate their mental health issues by healing their body and mind through changing their diet and prioritizing other self care, taught in my health transformation program.
Antidepressants are FDA approved to treat specific anxiety, depends on the drug, for panic disorder, ocd, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety. However, if there is anger involved, a full evaluation by a psychiatrist should be done before taking antidepressant to rule out a mood disorder which can react very poorly to antidepressants.
Absolutely! They are one of the beginning treatments, although there are other meds--you need to decide that with a psychiatrist preferably. Psychotherapy is also very powerful, so I always recommend that.
Have a blessed day.
Some people will respond well to some antidepressants, but human biochemistry is at least a little different in different people, so some people may not respond to medications that others find helpful for the same condition. Anger can be caused by a variety of different issues, so understanding what underlying condition is contributing to the excessive anger is important. Psychological testing can help identify what main condition(s) may be present, and clarify the diagnosis, which will then help point towards certain medications and away from others.
They potentially can but you have to speak with a psychiatrist about medication.
I'm a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, so my expertise is in psychotherapy-- or talk therapy-- not medication. That said, I do know that many more modern antidepressants, such as SSRIs and SNRIs, can be effective for both depression and anxiety. A psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner could give you better guidance on specific medications that may be helpful for you. Also, though, you may want to consider psychotherapy in addition to medication, particularly if-- as your question suggests-- anger plays a significant part in the emotions you experience.

Medication may assist with management of clinical symptoms but antidepressants may have the opposite effect. A licensed psychiatrist will help you determine the appropriate medication for you. Also, therapy may provide more efficient, long term results.

Thank you for your inquiry!
Yes antidepressants such as SSRIs are utilized for treatment of depression and anxiety
It can, but a thorough psychological evaluation should be conducted to rule out other factors. Namaste,  Sorry to hear that you are suffering from anger bouts. Regarding medicine, you need to contact a psychiatrist. To get to the roots of your anger and anxieties you may want to consider a Hypnotherapist.  I would also recommend daily practice of Progressive Muscle Relaxation and Guided Meditation.  In the meantime you may want to consider reading some of the following books:]  "Anxiety and Phobia Workbook" by Edmund J.
