How do you prepare for a lung CT scan?
There is no prep needed. If you will have IV contrast, you'll need to refrain from eating approximately 4-6 hours prior to the scan.
Can contrast dye give you gas?
I have never seen nor read about this happening.

It could suggest ascites. Follow up with an abdominal ultrasound or CT scans of the abdomen.
