How do you prepare for a lung CT scan?

There is no prep needed. If you will have IV contrast, you'll need to refrain from eating approximately 4-6 hours prior to the scan.

Can contrast dye give you gas?

I have never seen nor read about this happening.

How soon do doctors receive CT scan results?

Usually within a few minutes to a few hours after the scan, depending upon the setup of the imaging department involved.
