I was born and raised in Isfahan, the second largest city in Iran famous for its magnificent old building and bridges. My earliest childhood memories are of my conversations with my mother who taught me the invaluable lessons of kindness and respect. She taught me to dream big and not be afraid of falling as I climbed the mountain of life. I graduated from medical school at Tehran University and completed my pediatric residency at Children's Medical Center Hospital-Tehran University.
I married my husband and moved to the U.S. to expand my opportunities in life. I could not have met the challenges of going through the vigorous process of passing the medical boards and restarting pediatric residency had it not been for all the support and love of my husband who stood by my side every step of the way. As I look back at my life I consider myself very blessed to have had the privilege of practicing medicine in two very different medical systems as each one has taught me profound lessons of humility and compassion.
In 2009, I became a mother which is by far my greatest achievement in life. I am proud of my 12 year old son who is my greatest teacher, he inspires me everyday with his love for life and adventure as well as keeps me updated on all the latest trends in his age group which helps me to understand my young patients better. I tell my patients to be strong and not let small setbacks get in the way of their dreams. I tell them not to lose sight of how wonderful life is despite its challenges and as the old saying goes if I can do it you can do it too! I am truly honored to be chosen by my peers and pledge to continue my efforts to be a true advocate for the health and well-being of my patients.
