Let me start by saying that most headaches are not serious. However, it is important to get checked by a qualified medical professional, because, when you associate the headache with other signs and symptoms, it could be an indication of a serious underlying condition.
That being said, let's look at some of the conditions that can cause chronic headaches everyday. Many of these conditions are not as serious as you'd think:
- Tension and stress
- Injuries
- Eye problems
- Posture
- Ergonomics
- Hormones
- Dehydration
- Lack of food
- Food allergies
- High blood pressure
- Allergies
- Sinus
- Pillows
- Sleeping position
Just to name a few. The first thing I like to tell my patients to do is to start a journal. What time do these headaches start? How intense are they? What were you doing right before they started, and describe in detail? If you were eating, what was it? If you were sleeping, where were you, what was your position, and on what? Were there pets involved? The reason for this is to see if there is a pattern to these headaches. This way we can determine what is causing the problem, and if it is something that we can fix. If we can correct your issue, then it might help to stop the headaches from starting.
Between finding the cause of the muscular-skeletal problem and treating the actual condition, we can really help end those chronic headaches and change people's lives forever.
