Burning with urination can be because of few reasons. If he has burning with urgency and any blood in his urine or pain in his lower abdomen with fever, then he needs to get a urine analysis to make sure he does not have a kidney or bladder infection for which he will need antibiotics. Sometimes burning can happen transiently if children are a little dehydrated so increasing the intake of fluids can correct that. In a 13-year-old child, it is also important to get sexual history because at times STD’s are associated with burning urination, too. The number of days that the symptoms are there is also important.

Ear pain can be because of few reasons. If your child has history of seasonal allergies or has a cold lately then sometimes fluid accumulates behind the ear drum and over a period of time can cause an infection. Ear pain can also be from an outer ear infection especially in children who are swimming. Sometimes children have referred pain to the ear especially if they have any tooth issues. If pain has been there for 10 days, he should be looked at by a doctor.

If your child has failed an eye exam at school or at their doctors office or complained that is having difficulty seeing then you should have them see an Optometrist to get a proper eye exam first.

Yes children can have Sleep Apnea. It is especially common in overweight children or in children who have enlarged adenoids or tonsils. These kids do not feel rested even when they sleep all night and sometimes because they have nasal obstruction because of enlarged adenoids they breathe all night with their mouth open and hence feel that their mouth is dry.
