My 9 year old has eyesight issues. What type of eye doctor should I take him to?

Go check with pediatrician first, may later need either optometrist or ophthalmologist depends on what the problem is.

If your child has failed an eye exam at school or at their doctors office or complained that is having difficulty seeing then you should have them see an Optometrist to get a proper eye exam first.
