Yes, receiving a back massage can be safe and beneficial during pregnancy, but it's essential to take certain precautions. Here are a few points to consider:
Choose a Qualified Practitioner: Make sure the massage therapist is trained and experienced in prenatal massage. They should understand the specific needs and contraindications for pregnant clients.
Positioning: Ensure that you are in a comfortable position during the massage. Side-lying is often recommended for pregnant women, especially in the later trimesters.
Avoid Certain Areas: Some pressure points and areas (like the lower back and abdomen) should be approached with caution or avoided altogether during pregnancy.
Consult Your Healthcare Provider: Before getting a massage, it's a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider or midwife to ensure it’s appropriate for your specific situation.
Overall, a gentle, tailored massage can help alleviate discomfort and promote relaxation during pregnancy.

It depends on the diagnosis. In some cases, prolonged bed rest can actually worsen back pain and lead to stiffness and decreased mobility. Instead, the treatment protocol P.O.L.I.C.E. has been recommended:
Protection: Safeguard the injured area to prevent further injury.
Optimal Loading: Gradually engage in controlled movements and exercises that do not exacerbate the pain, promoting healing while maintaining mobility.
Ice: Apply ice to the affected area for 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day, to reduce swelling and provide pain relief.
Compression: Use compression bandages to minimize swelling and support the injured area, ensuring it’s not too tight.
Elevation: Keep the injured area elevated above heart level to help reduce swelling.
Chiropractors can assist with various tools and techniques such as myofascial release, non-surgical spinal decompression, chiropractic adjustments, ultrasound, and physiotherapies to help manage back pain effectively.

It's a fact that sitting for too long can cause and worsen low back pain, especially if you are doing something like driving which requires you to sit still in an awkward position. Sitting directly on your tailbone is not only uncomfortable but also causes unnecessary pressure on the spine. Low back pain can also stem from not being able to support your lower back during activities because you don't have the proper back strength. Believe it or not, using a lower back support can help relieve tension and pain in your lower back by holding the spine in place, which then allows you to focus more on your body's movements instead of trying to figure out how to hold yourself up all day.

First, let's talk why you are having hip pain. There is a special hormone released when females become pregnancy called "Relaxin." Relaxin is responsible for loosening up your ligaments (especially in the pelvic area) so that the baby can squeeze through and into the world; however, this also makes you more prone to having bones shift, cause pain, and give you decreased range of motion. A chiropractor can help you through your entire pregnancy, aligning your hips, lumbar spine (low back) can have a huge benefit for you. It can make birth easier because everything is where is it supposed to be (if you're getting adjusted) and can help you ease some of that discomfort that goes along with pregnancy. All and all, chiropractic adjustments are very safe during pregnancy. I have personally seen many pregnant woman who have had lots of success, easier birthing, and less pain through their pregnancy and they contribute it to getting adjusted.

It is probably due to "spinal creep." Spinal creep is a progressive deformation of anatomical structures such as ligaments and muscles. When the muscles in your neck and upper back are under a constant load (i.e. driving with your head forward), it deforms those muscles/ligaments and stretches them; so, your body is adapting to a certain posture in a negative way. When you are forcing yourself to sit/stand up straight, you are using muscles that are weak to hold that posture and also stretching muscles that are tight; couple these two things together and you get pain. As far as a fix, there is no quick fix, I would recommend, some targeted massage to open those contracted tissues, some chiropractic manipulations to free the joints that aren’t moving and also some rehab exercises to start to change your posture.

Weakness and pain in the forearms may be due to the impingement of a nerve along a chain that runs from your neck down to your arm. The tricky part is finding out where the pinch in the nerve is and what is causing the pinch. Some common conditions that can cause weakness and pain can be a cervical spine herniated disc, a tumor in or around the cervical spine, thoracic outlet syndrome, shoulder impingement, cubital tunnel syndrome, or carpal tunnel syndrome. I recommend seeing a physician to get a solid diagnosis and find out where that nerve is being pinched.

Patients who have complaints of soreness in their back that is alleviated with sleeping on the floor is a symptom of arthritis or spinal degeneration which, in turn, can actually be a mattress problem. Sleeping on the floor for you provides support and relief because your mattress is probably too old or too soft for you. When your mattress is too soft, it won’t support your spine. The key when sleeping is to have your spine supported in a neutral position. This also means that, with a pillow under the head, it will be different sizes for everyone. You should not have your head excessively tilted either up or down as both will strain the neck. Aim for a straight position of the neck and have a doctor, partner, or friend verify your neck is straight. Sleeping on your side or on your back is best, preferably with a pillow between the legs or a body pillow. Sleeping on your stomach is not advised as it will strain your neck and back.

Chiropractors are doctors. As chiropractors, we can diagnose, order MRIs, take our own x-rays, and have full access to the body as practitioners. A physical therapist may or may not have their DPT since it is new. Also even if the physical therapist has a DPT, does not mean they can do some things without first going through an MD. The chiropractic profession is also split as there are different sub-types. If you are able to find a good chiropractor, they will also do modalities and rehabilitation exercises as well as provide adjustments.
