Anxiety is often described as worry and/or fear, which can bring on a sense of being out of control. So many suffer in silence with anxiety and if your morning is in chaos, it may only add fuel to already negative thoughts.
By following a predictable routine, someone stricken with anxiety first thing can reduce those feelings of uncertainty and take back that control.
Here are some simple tips:
1. For some, making decisions in the morning and having to do it quickly because they need to get out the door on time, can add stress. A set routine is going to minimize decisions for the morning. Suddenly their mind isn’t overloaded with choices and anxiety is reduced.
2. Getting out of bed a little earlier to make sure you take some time for yourself in the morning can really benefit your physical and mental well-being. If you can start with a simple exercise routine, a healthy breakfast and hydrate, you will feel energized and focused. This will help you manage any feelings of anxiety that creep in.
In sum, adopting a morning routine can help reduce those initial feelings of anxiety when you wake up and lead to a calmer start to the day.
