10 Common Problems with CPAP Machines
Problem 4: The nose gets dry and stuffy while wearing the device
Solution/s:
Make sure there are no leaks in the mask.
Leaks in the mask can cause a dry nose. Again, it is important to make sure that the mask fits properly. Keep air from leaking by adjusting the mask accordingly.
Use a machine that has a heated humidifier.
Some CPAP devices have a heated humidifier feature connected to the air pressure machine. This might help prevent dry, stuffy noses. The humidification level can also be adjusted.
Apply a saline spray in your nose.
During bedtime, improve the condition of a dry and stuffy nose by using a nasal saline spray. This solution makes matters better by restoring moisture in the nostrils.
