15 Celebrities Who Have Also Battled Rheumatoid Arthritis
Dorothy Hodgkin
Not everyone on our list was in the entertainment industry. Dorothy Hodgkin was a British X-Ray Crystallographer. She used this advanced technology and a combination of chemistry, mathematics, and physics, to identify the structure of penicillin, insulin, and vitamin B. The latter of which earned her a Nobel Peace Prize in Chemistry in 1964.
As her rheumatoid arthritis developed, she became more and more of an advocate for peace and global disarmament. Despite being crippled in both hands and feet, she made passionate attempts to improve the world until she passed away at the age of 84.
