20 Celebrities Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea

Randy Jackson, former bassist for Journey, remarkable music producer and one of the three original judges on American Idol was diagnosed with sleep apnea and diabetes. Not surprisingly the two are often related. In fact, approximately 40% of all men who have type 2 diabetes also have sleep apnea. For men older than 65, the proportion goes up to 60. Jackson had gastric bypass surgery and lost nearly 100 pounds. He made a big change in his diet and exercise regimen after his diabetes diagnosis which helped with the sleep apnea symptoms.
