Can Patients Really Die From Sleep Apnea?

Many patients ignore sleep apnea until it's too late

Many people think that sleep apnea is not dangerous, only annoying. If your partner snores loudly, gasps for air in his sleep, or stops breathing for more than 5 seconds, then obstructive sleep apnea might be a problem.

Sleep apnea is more than just snoring. Adverse effects on health include diabetes, morning headaches, heart attacks, depression, stroke, impotence, lack of attention, and general fatigue.

You don’t have to be overweight to have sleep apnea. Only about 15% of the total number of those with OSA are actually obese.
