The Use of Regenerative Medicine on Muscular Dystrophy Patients
How do they improve muscular damage?
Muscular damage, whether due to trauma or disease, is one of the most common and debilitating problems that researchers are looking into. In one of the experiments, the lacerated muscle of mice was injected with a nerve growth factor (NGF), a fibroblast growth factor (b-FGF), and an insulin growth factor type 1 (IGF-1). All of them are known to be a potent stimulator of myoblasts. All three growth factors significantly accelerated the healing process, resulting in improved muscular strength (4).
