Tips for Properly Bathing, Dressing and Grooming Alzheimer's Patients
Additional bathing tips
- A full bath or shower can be done twice or thrice a week. For other days, a sponge bath is enough to cleanse the face, hands, underarms, feet, and genitals each day.
- The patient’s hair can be rinsed in the sink using a hose since this is easier than rinsing it in the tub or shower.
- If giving a bath is too difficult for the caregiver, a professional’s help must be sought.
