The first way is to increase your capacity for breath. Several of the practices in yoga can help to develop an improved lung capacity. It can also teach you several different breathing techniques which may help during a moment of crisis.
Yoga involves practicing many different poses, which may help as well. Many of the poses open up the chest and can improve your ability to breathe. Regular practice may help your muscles adapt to posture and movement which helps your lungs breathe more easily. You can also use some of the movements to open up your chest when you’re having a particularly difficult time breathing.
