These Celebrity Athletes Have Fought Crohn's Disease
James Morrison
At age 16 the famous British golfer James Morrison was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. This can be a devastating diagnosis for any adolescent, but Morrison continued to work towards his golfing career. In the 2011 French Open he ended up in the hospital, but with profound determination he still finished the competition. Morrison also shows how individualized Crohn’s can be for every person. Many people with Crohn’s struggle with their diet, but for Morrison, he has more problems with symptoms such as fatigue. His personal Crohn’s story touched a very popular competition which brings extra publicity to the issue. By persevering and finishing the competition, he has inadvertently supported every other person who has maybe thought of giving up on something because of their Crohn’s diagnosis.
