Rheumatoid Arthritis: The Year in Review
Early treatment study
Logic tells us that the earlier you treat something, the better. That way it has less time to spread and affect a patient's body. But just how much of an effect did the time of treatment have on the development of disease? This is a question that researchers were finally able to answer this year when it comes to RA. One study looked at patients and treatments spanning 20 years, and found a concrete link between treatment during an earlier stage of RA development and patient improvement in walking, grip, dressing themselves, and overall life span.
