All About Julia, the First Muppet with Autism

Julia is helping Sesame Street in their efforts to change these public perceptions of autism. She made her online debut in 2015 before appearing for the first time on TV earlier this year. Julia’s character helps teach children about their friends who have autism and ways that they can interact with them better. By seeing how fun and awesome Julia is with her Sesame Street friends, kids will be more familiar with autism when they encounter it. She was first introduced on an online initiative, which came with games, stories, videos, and other activities that can be downloaded to your phone or tablet.
