Abdominal Surgeon Questions Abdominal Surgeon

Abdominal pain?

I started having abdominal pain around 4:30PM on 4/29 that became severe rather quickly. I started feeling nauseous and like I needed to go to the bathroom (#2). The pain continued to get worse. It started at my belly button and went to both sides of abdomen. I had chills and my temp was 99.2. No appetite at all. The pain continued throughout the night. Today it is more on the right side than the left. I'm still nauseous. I finally ate something but ended up with diarrhea shortly after. My abdomen hurts with pressure and basically any movement or stretch. When I press on the right side of my stomach it feels tight. Could this be my appendix? Or do I need to go get checked? Also, I am not pregnant and had my menstrual cycle a week ago.

Pain that does not get better with time needs to be evaluated at an urgent care or ER. You may have had an infectious enteritis or colitis and these would be self-limited. It could also be your appendix, in which case it will probably not get better with time.
