General Practitioner Questions Blood levels

Abnormal gfr rate

I got some blood work done and the results are coming up as abnormal. I checked the levels and it says my GFR is at 60 and I am a 22 year old female. I tried getting ahold of my doctors office but they wont call me back or put me through. Is this something I should be concerned about?

An isolated GFR rate of 60 is nothing to worry about. If this was a routine test, forget it. If, on the other hand, the test was taken for a reason, there could be cause for a rerun. 60 is at the lower end of the normal range. Below 60 for an extended period could mean kidney trouble.
