“Are birth control pills safe?”
I am a 17-year-old female and I want to start taking birth control pills. Are birth control pills safe?
1 Answer
Birth control pills have been used since the 1940's and have been shown to be effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies and controlling abnormal uterine bleeding, among other problems. As long as you do not have any contraindication to taking them, like a blood clotting disorder, they can be safe and effective. See a provider to get further information.
