I get heart palpitations too often lately. Is it serious? Are heart palpitations a sign of a heart attack?

Not usually no. More often they are a sign of an irregular heart beat. But it should be evaluated by a cardiologist
Please see a Cardiologist ASAP. It can also be anxiety.
