Are the COVID vaccines safe for children?

My daughter is 8 years old. Are the COVID vaccines safe for children?

Studies have been done for short term side effects of these vaccines and they have been found to be essentially safe.
Please understand that as we continue to follow patients, any long term side effects would become apparent. Covid vaccine has not been around long enough to predict one way or the other
The safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines for children may vary depending on the specific vaccine and the age group. For example, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has received emergency use authorization by regulatory authorities for children aged 12 and older in many countries.

Clinical trials are currently underway to assess the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in younger age groups, including children as young as six months old. The data from these trials will help inform recommendations on vaccinating younger children.

It is always important to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide up-to-date information and guidance regarding COVID-19 vaccines for children. They can weigh the potential benefits against any potential risks or considerations specific to your daughter's individual health status.
The short answer is yes. Consider them as safe as any of the other vaccines you gave for childhood vaccine course. By now we have done all the studies needed for both adult and children to deem these safe and actually they are far more effective than even the flu shot
