“Bleeding between periods while water fasting?”
I went on a water fast (with vitamins and electrolytes), for 16 days. I had a menstrual period that is usually 5 days and became around 9, then bleeding continued the length of the fast. Is this a cause for concern? Is there a reason? This has happened for every water fast I have done, I have done 3. If it is important I am a 5'5 woman ~170 pound

It is normal for change in the menstrual cycle when the body is under stress physically as well as emotionally. In your case it looks like fasting is stressful and that affects the hypothalamus in the brain and thus downstream of your female hormones. This changes the ovarian cycle thus affecting menses. Is there a reason you are doing water fasting?
