I recently underwent colon surgery for a growth removal. It has been about 5 days since the surgery and today I passed some traces of blood in my stools. Is this normal?

Depends on how much blood you’re passing but traces of blood can be normal after colon surgery
Small amount of blood after colon surgery can be normal as long as you are otherwise doing okay. You should call the surgeon's office just to be sure he does not want to do anything differently.
