“Can Anovate cream cause itching?”
I am 32 years old and I suffered from anal fissures six months back. The doctor advised Anovate after treatment. Although my fissures healed, my skin is itching a lot. Could it be due to the Anovate cream?

Yes. All topical medications can cause itching and skin irritation long term. The best way to treat this is to avoid soaking/pool/baths and to use Desitin or Calmoseptine, both are available over the counter. We also always advise the patient to see the doctor back for this as well. We would be happy to see you at our office if needed.

Yes, Anovate may be the cause of your itching, but there can be other causes and I recommend that it be evaluated.
