Can CT scans cause thyroid problems?

I am a 45 year old female. I wonder if CT scans can cause thyroid problems?

CT has a tremendous amount of negative effects. It should only be utilized if absolutely necessary.
No. However, since IV contrast has iodine which is taken up by the thyroid, it is best to wait 6 weeks before an I123 or I131 nuclear medicine exam.
