I am taking antibiotics for my infection. Can I drink alcohol while on antibiotics?

Drinking alcohol while on antibiotics can increase the side effects of the antibiotic, including nausea, vomiting, and drowsiness. It is also harder on the liver as this organ metabolized the antibiotic and filters alcohol. A toxicity can result.
