Braces are made of a type of stainless steel or alloy which doesn't turn dark under normal circumstances. If you are eating very acidic foods it is possible. Try using baking soda tooth paste. Otherwise, have your orthodontist replace the wires the next time the orthodontist adjusts them. Darker braces will not affect the actual dental treatment. DENTIST
Clear Braces do not turn yellow. They are fabricated and made from porcelain or ceramic materials. The O-ring or the clear elastics that goes around each bracket that attaches the wire with the brackets decays with time by eating staining food such as coffee, red wine, strawberry, curry, sodas, basically any food that stains will turn the clear elastics (O-Rings) into yellow. If you visit your Orthodontist regularly to your follow up appointments the clear elastics will always be changed and that yellow color in your braces will disappear and had that issue resolved.
