I have a UTI. Can I take painkillers for UTI?

UTIs are not only miserable and life-altering, but they can also be deadly by causing sepsis.
As long as you are also treating the UTI you can certainly take something like acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Advil) to ease any discomfort until the antibiotics kick in. This being said, if you have any other underlying health conditions that taking one of these would be a problem, then check with your healthcare provider about the wisest way to proceed.
