Can I wear high heels after ankle replacement?

I am a 48 year old female. I want to know if I can wear high heels after ankle replacement?

You need to ask your surgeon. Different surgeons have different post-operative protocols.
Speak to your ankle surgeon.

It would be best if you asked the surgeon who did or is going to do your ankle replacement that question. In my opinion, you should not, because it may put increased stress on the implant. Over time, the increased stress may cause the implant to come loose, and that would be bad.

Hope it helps!!

Great question and really best discussed with your surgeon. In theory, if your replacement is well fixed, solid, and your surrounding muscles strong, balance (a component called proprioception) are good, you should be fine for short periods of time. In my patients, a stylish, acceptable, lower heel with wider base would be my recommendation (no 4” stiletto). If you were my significant other, I would tell her to go stylish and low. Why take any chances? I am sure you can look great without taking risks.
Hope this helps a little. Good luck.
First, check with your surgeon. I think if it's not more than one inch, it would be OK.
