I have gum recession. Can a bad toothbrush cause gum recession?

brushing technique

Likely not. If you are referring to an old toothbrush, the bristles get "softer". This will result in more plaque build-up because you aren't cleaning the plaque off with a proper brush. This can then result in inflammation and recession of your gums.
