Can a dental implant with bone loss be saved?

I have bone loss around my dental implant. Can a dental implant with bone loss be saved?

Great Question. Sorry to hear about problems with your implant. You need a 3D CBCT to assess the severity of bone loss and a thorough examination. In general, some cases are salvageable if the implant is still secured in the remaining bone and we can even try to build some bone around the failing implants. Varies a lot from case to case. I would recommend seeing a Board certified Oral Surgeon with excellent experience to see what are your options.

As always these are general guidelines and we do recommend speaking with your doctor regarding your particular situation.

Thanks!

If a dental implant has already become loose due to a severe infection and subsequent bone loss, it may not be possible to save it. In this case the infected dental implant might need to be removed and the area left to heal.

Yes, the bone graft can salvage the dental implant. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/AAb9ysg>
