“Can a doctor cancel an appt without an explanation?”
I was seeing a sports pain management doctor. My pain doctor dismissed me because I filled another prescription but did not take it. No problem. I called today to make an appt about my shoulder pain and he did a cortisone shot and a consultation. The doctor's office called me back to cancel appt without reason. Can he dismiss me without explanation? He was treating me for shoulder pain.

Usually a cancellation will require notification to the patient. However I would inquire for more information. Most pain management clinics have a contract, should it be breached, could terminate your relationship with the clinic.
