Neurologists can sometimes help. It is also possible that you might need to see a ear specialist / ENT doctor.
If the motion sickness is due to an inner ear problem, which is most of the time, either a neurologist or an ENT physician or anyone skilled in diagnosing and treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
Yes, other doctors can as well. Most importantly is diagnosing the specific cause and directing treatment accordingly. In motion sickness, an ENT ear, nose and throat specialist may be involved, and in most sophisticated cases, a highly specialized dr. known as a Neurotologist (combination Neurologist ENT) may need to be consulted.
Typically, motion sickness is treated with an over-the-counter medication, usually Dramamine. Neurology and Ear Nose and Throat doctors might be consulted, but most of the time that’s not necessary.
