I am a 33 year old female. I want to know if a saltwater rinse can help gum pain?

Yes in many cases, warm salt rinses will help decrease inflammation. It may also encourage abscesses to come to a head and drain. It is still essential to seek examination, diagnosis and treatment from a dentist ASAP.
Dr Gerald Fox.
It can to some degree in conjunction with good daily flossing and brushing at least 2 times daily. If pain persists after a few days, then you have to get a dental check up to determine the source of the pain, could be infection related if pain lasts more than few days or not getting better.
Unless you’ve had recent surgery (periodontal or Extrattions) then I’d say yes, but inflammation from gingivitis or periodontitis would require professional intervention (help)
