“Can braces cause white marks on teeth?”
I wear braces and notice white marks on my teeth. Can braces cause white marks on teeth?

Yes, the white marks are pre-cavities or white spot lesions. They mark the beginning of the demineralization process. As long as cavitation has not occurred, it can be reversed with improved oral hygiene, fluoride, and as needed, resin infiltration. Hope that helps!
White marks are sometimes caused by decalcification, many times caused by developmental defects during the growth of the teeth, but could be caused by poor cleaning of your teeth while wearing braces. There may be some dentifrices that advertise they can restore calcification to the enamel. Other restorative methods are possible. Speak to your dentist/orthodontist about your concerns.
Yes they can which may be caused by a lack of good oral hygiene . Most white lesions can be treated with non invasive methods .
