Can diabetic neuropathy be treated with surgery?

I am a diabetic and now have nerve damage in my foot and ankle. Are there surgical treatments for my diabetic neuropathy?

No, not really. Lyrica or gabapentin. But you should get a work-up for peripheral arterial disease from a surgeon and there is treatments for that. Diabetics start getting numbness in there hands and feet called "stocking glove distribution," which means you already have complications of your diabetes and should seek professional help. Foot exam, cardiac work-up, eye exam yearly.
No it cannot be treated with surgery. Medication such as Lyrica or Neurontin are the usual drugs used to alleviate the symptoms.
No surgery will not help if your neuropathy is due to diabetes. This is caused by damage or even death of nerves by high BS. If mild or early it can be reversed by improved control. If the nerve is dead, it cannot be reversed so careful observation of the feet is needed to prevent ulcers. There are medications that can help the pain & burning.
