Can diabetics have a CT scan with contrast?

I have type 2 diabetes and need to get a CT scan with contrast. Can diabetics have a CT scan with contrast?

Yes, just check your creatinine level and drink plenty of fluid.
Usually, yes. They may have a higher risk of kidney damage, if they have previous kidney disease. Before the CT with contrast, all patients have the kidney function checked.
Generally yes, unless they have any diabetic complications like nephropathy. In that case, a conversation about the pros and cons with the ordering doctor should help.
