Yes. Absolutely. The first line treatment for dry eyes is the use of an artificial tear drop. Use a reputable brand that guarantees the sterility of the product.
Sometimes they are quite helpful. Particularly if the dry eye is a tear deficiency dry eye. However, they can also be helpful with evaporative dry eye if they are a hypotonic tear solution. However, people with excessive evaporation need to have that problem treated directly. Although tears will temporize, they are not a good long-term treatment for that condition.
